Zinedine Zidane has expressed delight in Michael Olise for helping him secure a perfect start as France national team coach.
This was after the Bayern Munich man scored the only goal of the game against Belgium in the ongoing UEFA Nations League.
Olise came on as a 77th-minute replacement for Bradley Barcola at the King Baudouin Stadium and broke the deadlock in the 88th minute.
His run before the goal sent Zidane going wild on the touchline.
Addressing reporters, Zidane said: "I saw him dribble past a defender, and I said to myself: 'He's going to score'. I was cheering him on with all my heart. He is an extraordinary talent. I love this type of player. When he plays, he wants to entertain the fans. But it doesn't stop there. He has a great sense of the game; he anticipates the opponent's movements, and he knows when to attack and when to drop back."
France will now face Italy on October 2, while Belgium plays Turkiye.
