Lionel Messi reached another major milestone on Wednesday night after scoring his 100th goal for Inter Miami in the club’s 2-0 victory over Cruz Azul in the 2026 Campeones Cup.
The Argentine opened the scoring in the 24th minute at Nu Stadium, rising to head in a cross from Luis Suárez.
The goal was particularly fitting because Cruz Azul was also the opponent Messi faced when he scored his first goal for Inter Miami on his debut in July 2023.
Messi reached the 100-goal mark in 115 appearances across all competitions for the MLS club. Inter Miami confirmed that he is the first player in the club's history to reach the milestone.
The 39-year-old was not finished there. In the 81st minute, Messi delivered a corner that Casemiro headed into the net to complete the 2-0 victory and hand Inter Miami their first Campeones Cup title.
The victory also extended Inter Miami's run of winning at least one trophy in every season since Messi arrived in 2023. The club won the Leagues Cup in 2023, Supporters' Shield in 2024, MLS Cup in 2025, and now the Campeones Cup in 2026.
For Messi, the latest title takes his career trophy haul to 48 according to MLS's current count, further extending his record as the most decorated player in the sport.
Messi was also named Player of the Match following his goal and assist as Inter Miami began the new era under head coach Cristian González with silverware.
At 39, Messi continues to add new milestones to a career that has already included the FIFA World Cup, Copa América titles, UEFA Champions League triumphs and now four trophies with Inter Miami.
