Nigeria’s Flamingos have completed a perfect campaign at the 2026 WAFU-B U-17 Girls Cup after defeating Togo 4-0 in the final in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.
The victory gave Nigeria five wins from five matches and secured the regional title without a defeat.
Captain Chidera Harmony played a key role in the final, scoring twice from the penalty spot as the Flamingos established a two-goal lead before half-time.
Harmony opened the scoring in the 15th minute after converting a penalty before adding her second from another spot-kick 20 minutes later.
Nigeria maintained control after the interval, with Oluebube Umejiaku extending the lead in the 67th minute.
Oluwakemi Adegbuyi completed the scoring in the 90th minute to seal a 4-0 victory and Nigeria’s fifth consecutive win of the tournament.
The campaign was marked by Nigeria’s attacking efficiency and defensive discipline, providing a strong boost for coach Hakeem Busari and his players ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco next month.
The Flamingos, bronze medallists at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, will now shift their focus to the global tournament.
