Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo scored twice as Manchester City moved to the top of the Premier League after a 5-3 victory over Sunderland at the weekend.
Semenyo ended his wait for his first goals of the season with a brace at the Etihad Stadium as City moved three points clear of second-placed Arsenal.
The 26-year-old put City 3-2 ahead in the 43rd minute, finishing from close range before adding his second in the 57th minute after receiving a pass from Rayan Cherki.
City survived a hat-trick from Sunderland's Brian Brobbey to secure the win.
In another Premier League fixture, Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson scored his second goal of the season as Aston Villa defeated Tottenham 3-2.
Jackson, who had previously scored in the Champions League against Club Brugge, ended his Premier League wait in the 67th minute when he evaded Jan Paul van Hecke before firing into the net.
The goal put Villa two goals ahead and helped them secure their first league win in five matches despite Tottenham's late comeback attempt.
In Spain, Guinea midfielder Ilaix Moriba scored his first goal of the season as Celta Vigo thrashed Racing Santander 5-0 for their first La Liga win of the campaign.
The former Barcelona player collected the ball outside the box, advanced towards goal and fired a low shot from about 20 yards to give Celta a two-goal advantage.
In Germany, Morocco forward Ismael Saibari scored his first goal for Bayern Munich since joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2026 during their 7-0 Bundesliga win over Union Berlin.
Saibari, born in Spain, cut in from the left before taking advantage of another defensive error to score Bayern's fifth goal with 20 minutes remaining.
The 25-year-old had earlier been named footballer of the season in the Netherlands after scoring 19 goals and providing nine assists in 37 matches as PSV won the Dutch league title.
In France, Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah scored twice in 30 minutes as Lyon defeated Rennes 4-0 to strengthen their position in second place in Ligue 1.
