Troops Rescue 13 Kidnapped Victims, Disrupts Terrorists Activities In Zamfara

Troops of the Joint Task Force, North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, in separate intelligence-led operations, rescued 13 kidnapped victims in Anka and Kaura Namoda Local Government Areas, Zamfara State.

The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, in a statement, indicated that the operations led to the recovery of two vehicles and the disruption of terrorist activities in the affected communities.

According to the statement, troops of Sector 2 carried out the first operation in Bagega, following credible intelligence on the movement of armed terrorists on motorcycles toward Tungan Kudaduku in Anka LGA.

Supported by real-time surveillance, the troops pursued and engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to flee and abandon their mission.

A follow-up sweep of the area led to the discovery of a makeshift terrorist camp, where five kidnapped victims were rescued unharmed.

In a separate operation in Unguwan Rogo, Kaura Namoda LGA, troops acted on intelligence reports of terrorist activity and engaged the criminals in a fierce gun battle.

The terrorists were forced to retreat, abandoning eight kidnapped victims. Two vehicles were also recovered during the operation.

The statement added that all 13 rescued victims have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for medical care and further support.

It further noted that troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA are sustaining offensive operations across the North West, maintaining pressure on terrorist groups and denying them freedom of movement.
