The arrival of the former vice-president attracted a large crowd of supporters who gathered to welcome him ahead of the campaign event.
The turnout reportedly caused heavy traffic congestion around the Sokoto Arch and other entry points into the state capital.
The rally, scheduled to hold at the ADC state secretariat along Ilorin Road, marks the formal commencement of the party's presidential campaign activities in Sokoto ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event was initially scheduled for October 31 but was postponed to November 4 by the party's Presidential Campaign Council.
The campaign flag-off comes amid political tension in the state following allegations by the ADC that the state government had sealed its campaign office and restricted opposition activities.
The party has also raised concerns over the safety of its members and supporters, while security operatives have reportedly been deployed across strategic areas of the state capital to maintain order.
The rally is expected to bring together ADC leaders, supporters and political stakeholders from Sokoto and other parts of the North-West.
