Reps Exposes Agbese In Video Footage Signing Minority Leader Endorsement
A group of opposition lawmakers in the House of Representatives, known as the G-60 Minority Caucus, has released video footage exposing Philip Agbese signing the nomination document of Ikenga Ugochinyere for house Minority Leader.
In a statement by Hon. Mukhtar Umar and Hon. Seyi Sowunmi, the lawmakers dismissed allegations that signatures on the nomination document were forged, insisting that all endorsements were voluntarily appended by members of the Minority Caucus.
The caucus stated that 61 of the 81 minority lawmakers endorsed Ugochinyere’s nomination to fill the vacancy created by the defection of Hon. Kingsley Chinda to the All Progressives Congress and his emergence as the party’s governorship candidate in Rivers State.
The lawmakers specifically rejected claims by Deputy House Spokesperson, Hon. Philip Agbese, that his signature was forged on the endorsement list, maintaining that the released footage confirms his participation in the signing process.
The G-60 Minority Caucus reaffirmed its commitment to due process and urged the public and the media to disregard allegations of forgery, insisting that the nomination process was transparent and democratic.
