Ondo State Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelami, has celebrated Prophet Babatunde Okeyomi, popularly known as “Carry-go”, on his birthday, praising his involvement in community development and political mobilisation.
Adelami, in a statement by his spokesperson, John Paul Akinduro, described Okeyomi as a man of humility and courage while acknowledging what he described as his contributions to good governance and community development.
The deputy governor said Okeyomi had remained involved in progressive political activities over the years, from his days as a member of the Alliance for Democracy to his current support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adelami also commended Okeyomi for his grassroots engagement in support of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, saying his activities had helped mobilise stakeholders around the administration’s programmes.
He further praised the cleric’s community initiatives through his non-profit organisation, which he said had provided assistance to vulnerable people.
“Prophet Okeyomi, popularly known by the sobriquet ‘Carry-go’, has a long history of progressive political alignment,” Adelami said.
He prayed for continued strength and good health for Okeyomi as he leads his church and contributes to the development of Ondo State.
Okeyomi is also associated with APC political mobilisation in Ondo State, having previously featured in grassroots efforts around the party’s campaigns.
