Olubadan sues for peace

Olubadan of Ibadan Oba Saliu Adetunji has sued for peace in Ibadan stressing that he remains committed to ensuring the socio-economic and political development of the land.

Speaking during the installation of some Mogajis at the Popoyemoja Palace, Oba Adetunji charged those installed to see the gesture as a challenge to do more for their homeland and refrain from an act that could truncate the peace being enjoyed in Ibadan.

''I want to congratulate you all but this is a challenge to you all to continue to work for peace and progress of Ibadan. What we need is a harmonious relationship for us to have rapid socio-economic development'' he said.

Our correspondent reports that the monarch solicited the support of all sons and daughters for his reign as the monarch.

Some of the beneficiaries of the title of Mogaji lauded the initiative of the monarch and promised their support for Olubadan.

Other dignitaries enjoined the people of the land to support the monarch for peace and progress to be achieved

Nine persons including a 20-year-old student of Business Economics, University of Warrick Coventry, United Kingdom, Solomon Adegbola, were installed as new Mogajis in Ibadan by Oba Saliu Adetunji.
