A Federal High Court, Judge, retired Justice Baba Gana Ashigar, has died in Maiduguri, Borno State, after a brief illness.

The Director of Information of the Federal High Court, Dr. Catherine Oby Christopher, in a statement indicated that His Lordship passed on in Maiduguri, Borno State, and has since been laid to rest on the 26th of July, 2026, in accordance with Islamic rites.

According to the FHC, Justice Ashigar, rtd, was a jurist who served with diligence, dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the administration of justice.

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, John Tsoho, Judges, Management, and Staff of the Federal High Court extended their heartfelt condolences to the immediate family and prayed that Almighty God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
