Edo PDP Caution Governor Oshiomole

The battle for the soul of Edo state ahead of upcoming elections between the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC and the opposition party, PDP, continued this past weekend with an appeal to the Governor Adams Oshiomole to stop dragging traditional rulers into politics.

The state PDP Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, who made the appeal at a rally in Edo north senatorial district where in members of the APC defected in number to the PDP, said it was becoming worrisome the level at which royal fathers were being influenced to orchestrate the governors bidding in order to score cheap points.

Chief Orbih, who expressed dissatisfaction at governor oshiomole’s waste of public funds to the tunes of millions on traditional rulers and other unnecessary issues during his 6th anniversary in Benin, said it was most unfortunate that other vital sectors of the economy that needed to be addressed was left unattended, he said the Governor has not being able to commission remarkable projects due to his alleged wasteful expenditures on frivolities when he could have teachers unpaid salaries and infrastructures.

The PDP, chairman, addressing the party Faithfull on the occasion called on Governor Oshiomole to desist from smearing image of the president Jonathan whom he said did nothing for the people of Edo when he earlier commended him.

It will be recalled that Governor Oshiomole during his 6th anniversary in Benin where all the APC chieftains and stakeholders were present did alleged that President Jonathan has not done anything remarkable for the state. This indeed did not go down well with the state chapter of the PDP, before responding on the comments.

Effort to get comments from the Governor aids was unsuccessful as they were said not to be on seat on the allegations raised by PDP.
