A faction of Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has suspended the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, his Deputy Philip Shaibu and the secretary to the state government Osarodion Ogie for alleged anti-party activities and disregard to the party rules and regulations.

The group disclosed this during an enlarged meeting in Benin City, where they called on the national working committee of the APC to institute disciplinary action against the suspended trio.

Edo Peoples Movement, a political group within the APC also accused the state governor of failing to deliver the dividend of democracy to the people

The group also accused the state governor and some top members of his cabinet of their secret plans to pay the sum of six billion Naira to the people's Democratic party to secure the ticket ahead of next year's Governorship election.

Though, the Edo state Governor still has about a year left in his first term in office, but who will fly the party's flag in the 2020 Governorship election remains to be seen.
