APC Confirms Tinubu-Shettima Joint Ticket, Submits Nomination Forms to INEC
President Bola Tinubu has retained Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election, as the All Progressives Congress submitted its presidential nomination forms to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The forms were presented to APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, in Abuja by the President's Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ibrahim Masari, for onward transmission to INEC.
Receiving the documents, Yilwatda said the nomination reflects the mandate of the party's more than 12 million verified members. He cited the administration's student loan scheme, agricultural reforms and infrastructure projects as evidence of its performance, expressing confidence that the APC would secure victory in the 2027 general election.
Chairman of the Progressive Governors' Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, reaffirmed the governors' support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket, describing the party's presidential primary as transparent and pledging to mobilise support for the APC ahead of the 2027 polls.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, later confirmed Senator Kashim Shettima as the party's vice-presidential candidate.
