An Anambra-based legal practitioner and social critic, Okoli Akirika, has berated the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, over the decision to delete the names of Senator David Mark, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and African Democratic Congress, ADC, National Working Committee, NWC, members from the Commission's portal. He said the action is a dangerous precedent for Nigeria’s democracy.

Akirika, in a media interaction in Awka, Anambra State, asserted that the Chairman of the ADC has already constituted a legitimate executive council members before the decision reached by the electoral umpire.

He cautioned against actions that will derail the buildup to the 2027 general elections.
