The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has taken over the Minority Party, displacing the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Senate of the 10th National Assembly, after the defection of 9 senators to the ADC on Thursday.

The defection of nine senators on Thursday, therefore, reconfigured the composition and numeric standing of the various political parties in the Senate.

Currently, the ruling All Progressives Congress, has majority representation of 87 members in the Higher Chamber of the National Assembly, African Democratic Congress, ADC, 9 members; PDP 7, APGA 1, NDC 1, and NNPC 1.

The SDP and LP have zero members in the senate.

Three seats are still vacant at the time of this report.
