Wike disclosed this on Friday in Abuja after inspecting the ongoing dualisation of the Kuje-Gwagwalada road, saying he would soon inaugurate the campaign teams for the two locations.
He said supporters of Tinubu from different political platforms had already begun preparing their political machinery, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) was also organising for the 2027 contest.
The minister said he would personally lead the campaign operations in both the nation’s capital and his home state of Rivers.
Wike linked the administration’s infrastructure projects in the FCT to its political campaign, arguing that completed and ongoing projects would shape public perception ahead of the election.
He expressed confidence in the support for Tinubu in the FCT and said infrastructure development would also strengthen the prospects of other candidates supporting the president, including Senator Philip Aduda and candidates for the two House of Representatives seats in the territory.
The minister also dismissed anticipated claims of electoral malpractice in the FCT, saying the projects being delivered would provide the basis for the administration’s campaign.
During the inspection, Wike commended the contractor and site engineers for the progress on the Kuje-Gwagwalada road dualisation project.
He assured stakeholders that adequate funding would be provided to ensure the project is completed by December.
Wike said his inspection was his first visit to that section of the road and noted the high population density of the area.
He maintained that the delivery of functional infrastructure remained central to governance and public satisfaction, while expressing appreciation to Tinubu for continued support for capital projects in the FCT.
“You can imagine the enthusiasm and happiness on the faces of the people. That is why we say the essence of governance is to make people happy. When the people are happy, those in authority are happy,” he added
