Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, has appointed six zonal campaign coordinators to oversee the party’s presidential campaign across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
The appointments are part of efforts to strengthen the structure of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
The new coordinators are High Chief Eddy Olafeso for the South-West, Habu Muazu for the North-East, Senator Ibrahim Tsauri for the North-West, Bode Ojomo for the North-Central, Akadiaha Ebitu for the South-South and Obi Okechukwu for the South-East.
According to a statement signed by the Director of Strategic Communications of the campaign organisation, Richard Ihediwa, the coordinators would work with the National Campaign Management Committee and the national leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement to mobilise support across the country.
The appointments come shortly after Makinde announced the leadership of the National Campaign Management Committee, with former Minister of State for Aviation, Felix Hyat, appointed as Director-General.
Former Minister of Women Affairs, Inna Ciroma, and Anthony Aziegbemi were also named Deputy Directors-General for Administration and Operations respectively.
Other members of the campaign structure include directors overseeing mobilisation, legal and compliance, administration and strategy, strategic communications, finance, security and intelligence, women and youth coordination, monitoring and documentation.
The latest appointments further divide the campaign structure along the six geopolitical zones as the party prepares to take its “Reset Nigeria” message to voters.
The campaign organisation said the zonal coordinators would bring their experience, political networks and organisational capacity to the mobilisation effort.
It added that further appointments would be announced in due course.
Makinde also urged Nigerians supporting the campaign to remain focused and steadfast as the APM works towards the 2027 presidential election.
