The Police declined to accept ₦500 million bribe in a sting operation, storming a residence at Maryland, an outskirt of Ikeja, Lagos, that provide storehouse for illicit drugs worth ₦7.8 billion.

The police arrested the kingpin of the drug traffickers and other perpetrators, who include Eke Ifeanyi Henry.

A combined team of operatives from the Zone 2 Police Command and the Special Protection Unit were involved in the sting operation.

The Assistant Inspector General, in charge of Zone 2, AIG Jimoh, disclosed that the lead suspect was under surveillance for months before operation that led to his arrest.
