Yoruba leaders demand end to kidnapping, banditry

Apparently worried by the gruesome killing of the daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the Ooni of ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has said the region had heard enough of the killings by herdsmen.

The monarch called on Yoruba to be united and end the spate of killings in the South-West, saying they can no longer fold their hands and allow the mindless killing of their people.

Speaking at a special reception of a member of the National Assembly, Olufemi Bamisile, Oba Ogunwusi described the sustained aggression in the South-West as unacceptable.

He advised South west leaders to put on their thinking cap and find urgent solution to the spate of killing and kidnapping in the region.

Former Senate minority leader, Abiodun Olujimi also urged Nigerians to stop attaching criminality to any ethnic group.
