Suspected Student Cultists Damaged Principal's Car, Offices in Delta School

The prompt intervention of stakeholders and Community Leaders has prevented the Ekiugbo Grammar School in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State from being closed down over an attack on the School Principal, and the damaging of his car and school properties by suspected student cultists.

The students who staged a violent protest against the school authority for trying to discipline one of them over his unruly behaviour led to the students in their numbers chasing the principal who ran for his life before they vent their anger on his car, office and classrooms.

Speaking after an emergency meeting on the orders of the state governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the principal of the school pleaded that the school should not be shut, as the council chairman promised to bring the suspected cultists to book.

On her part, the Delta Commissioner for secondary education Rose Ezewu, promised urgent intervention by the state governor as a community leader promised strict measures for the culprits.

As at the time of filing this report, the suspected students’ cultists are still on the run as the manhunt for them continues.
