Social Media Poses Challenge to Governance - Lawan

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has given a hint that he is in support of regulating social media.

Galaxy's Godfrey Eshiemoghie reports that Lawan in a lecture at the National Defence College in Abuja Tuesday faulted how the Social media has been used to disseminate misinformation which is posing a huge challenge to leaders across the globe.

Presenting a lecture on Strategic Political Leadership, the Senate President was quick to hint that leadership has become more challenging since the advent of the new media which gives liberty to all and sundry to air mostly unverified views.

Lawan who, however, urged youths to hold leaders accountable, urged leaders in Africa to ensure they deliver quality leadership to their citizens.

The event had in attendance top officers of the National Defence College and officers attending virtually from across the country.
