Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde has described the judgment of the governorship election petition tribunal that upheld his election as the victory for the people of the state.

Makinde while reacting to the ruling stated that the three man panel had confirmed the decision of the people of the state who trooped out en mass march 9th, 2019 for a new beginning in the state.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the governor disclosed that the victory remains a big challenge for him to come up with programmes and policies that will improve the well being of the residents.

He appealed to the members of the opposition parties in the state, especially the all pro0gressive congress to forget about partisan politics but should join hands with the ruling party to develop Oyo state.

Reacting to the judgment, the all progressive congress in the says it received the judgment of the tribunal that upheld Makinde*s victory with dismay.

The party in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Abdulazeez Olatunde disclosed that the state working committee of the party has decided to refer the judgment to the team of legal practitioners for appropriate steps. He urged leaders and members of the party remain calm adding that they should wait for the decision of the party on the matter.
