Maitama Sule laid to rest in Kano
The remains of late elder states man, and Nigeria’s former representatives to the United Nations , Maitama Sule has been laid to rest at the family Burial ground at Kofa Maguzal, kano state.
The Muslim Prayer session for the repose of his soul was carried out by the Emir of Kano, Mohammad Sanusi 11 at the emir’s Palace.
The former oil ministers’ body arrived Kano Air force base at about 3.30pm Local time aboard an Airforce plane with registration number NAF 913 and was received by the state governor Umar Ganduje.
Chief of staff to President Mohammad Buhari, Abba Kyari led the federal government delegation to the burial ceremony.
Among prominent dignitaries on the occasion, are the Senate President, Senator Abubakar Saraki, Jigawa State Governor, Abubakar Badaru. former Kano State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Sekarau and Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal.
Others are Nigeria's richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, former INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, Bauchi State Governor, among others too numerous to mention.
