Legal practitioners support IPOB proscription

Legal practitioners support IPOB proscription

As reactions continue to trail the proscription of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) by the federal high court order in Abuja, legal practitioners have thrown their weight behind the court order saying due process was followed in the proscription.


While speaking with Galaxy television, some legal practitioners in Warri who expressed happiness on the court order by Justice Abdul Kafarati.

Speaking on the issue, a legal practitioner and the Executive Director Center for the Vulnerable and the Under Privilege, Barrister Oghenejabor Ikimi expressed his views.

Other legal practitioners who spoke said aggrieved parties have the option of appeal to address their grievances.

In the same vein, Nigerians have been divided over the proscription of IPOB as the apex Ibo organization Ohanaeze Ndigbo has also jump to the defence of the group claiming the group is not a terrorist organization.
