Unknown gunmen have hijacked a branded commercial bus and abducted passengers on board in Rivers state.

It was gathered that the bus had taken off in Port Harcourt and was travelling to Lagos before the armed men ambushed the bus owned by a notable private transportation company and riddled the bus with bullets.

The Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni has confirmed that passengers and the driver of the bus were kidnapped.

He continued that three passengers were rescued and injured driver had been attended to at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
