Four Arraigned for Olakunrin Murder

An Ondo State Chief magistrate court sitting in Akure has remanded at the Owo facility of the Nigerian Correctional Service,  Four members of an eight-man gang that allegedly killed Funke Olakunri, the daughter of Afenifere leader, Reuben Fasoranti.

The four suspects, Lawal Mazaje, Adamu Adamu,  Mohammed Shehu Usman And Auwal Abubakar were docked on a four-count charge that includes conspiracy to murder, murder and kidnapping.

The suspects who were arraigned before chief magistrate Victoria Bob Manuel had no legal representation at the first sitting on the case.

Chief magistrate Bob Manuel agreed with the state prosecution Led the attorney general and Commissioner for justice, Adekola Olawoye that the suspects be remanded pending the legal advice from the office of the director of public prosecution, DPP on the case.

Present in Court was the husband of late Funke, Idowu Olakunri who appreciated the police and state government and expressed hope of getting justice.

Further hearing on the advice of DPP will resume on the case on the 3rd June 2020.
