Drama at Lagos Airport as Oshiomhole Allegedly Shuts Down Terminal After Missing Flight

Tensions flared at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos on Tuesday, June 11, after former Edo State Governor and current senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, allegedly caused a disruption at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) following a missed flight to Abuja.

According to eyewitnesses, the drama began around 6:10 a.m. when Oshiomhole arrived late for a 6:30 a.m. flight. By the time he got to the Zulu Terminal, the airline had reportedly closed boarding and the flight departed as scheduled.

A now-viral video shows Oshiomhole in a heated exchange with airport staff. Witnesses allege that the senator became aggressive upon learning he had missed his flight, blocking the terminal entrance and temporarily halting access for other passengers.

Airport staff further claimed that Oshiomhole demanded the flight be delayed for him — a request the airline refused.

As of now, neither the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) nor the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has released an official statement regarding the incident.
