DPR crackdown on defaulting fuel stations

A total of five fuel stations and eleven dispensing pumps have been sealed-off and put out of use by the Department of Petroleum Resources in Anambra State.

This was disclosed by the Anambra State Operations Controller of the DPR, Engineer Ignatius Anyanwu during a routine surveillance operation in the state.

Engr. Anyanwu who gave poor safety and under- dispensing as reasons for sealing-off the stations, called on petroleum marketers in the state to play by the rules as the DPR is determined to ensure that Nigerians get the best products at the regulated price.

Meanwhile, motorists who decried the activities of some shady fuel marketers in the state commended the surveillance exercise by the DPR, hailing it as the right step in the right direction.
