Benue Police Authority has arrested one Ake Nicodemus, a fifty-five years old man for allegedly raping a minor at his residence in Naka town, in Gwer-West local government area of Benue State.
The suspect, who was paraded at the command headquarters in Makurdi, confirmed to newsmen that he attempted raping the victim, a four-year-old neighbour who lives next door.
He confessed to having cornered the four-year-old girl in the toilet placed her on his lap and was using her, he claimed he was drunk as at the time he committed the act.
The suspect, who is HIV positive, is currently undergoing investigation while the victim has been placed on medical examination. The suspect who spoke in Tiv language narrated how he committed the act.
Meanwhile, the State command spokesperson, DSP Catherine Anene, said the suspect will be charged to court tomorrow Tuesday after investigations has been concluded as the victim is been examined medically.
