Anambra polls: INEC blames political parties

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has blamed political parties for the delay in the conduct of the Anambra central senatorial district election.

INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu made the declaration at a capacity building workshop for leaders of political parties held in Abuja on Wednesday, August 2.

The event was to  reorient members of the political parties in the country to make them more viable and productive in governance.

The chairman of the electoral commission frowned at the rate of  litigations coming from political parties after elections, calling on them to embrace inclusive participation and alternative conflict resolution method to avoid distraction of court summons.

Some participants at the workshop revealed that the workshop  was key to their existence.

Chairmen, general secretaries and women leaders of political parties are in attendance of the two day event.
