Abia Security: Abia police remain resolute says no to IPOB.

The Nigeria police force Abia state command under the leadership of CP Ene Okon has reiterated its commitment in ensuring that the forthcoming burial of the Late father and mother of Nnamdi Kanu in the state is done peacefully devoid of any rancor.

The CP made this known to the public through a press release signed on his behalf by the commands police public relations officer SP Ogbonna Geoffrey

According to the statement, the Police has been updated with series of intelligence information that miscreants disguising as members of the indigenous peoples of Biafra (IPOB) are intending to hijack the burial process of his Royal Majesty Eze and Uhoeze I.O Kanu of afara community Umuahia in solidarity to the leader of the proscribed organization.

Consequently, the command has resolved to flood the venue of the burial with adequate security to ensure a peaceful atmosphere during the funeral.

They, however, task members of the public not to see the heavy security presence as a threat but a proactive measure to prevent the infiltration of miscreants and hoodlums into the community to actualize their intentions of truncating the burial process and peace hitherto enjoyed by the law-abiding indigenes and residents of the state.

The commission of police enjoins the public to disregard the rumors making rounds that he wants to scuttle the burial process whereas he has the good intention of providing security to the lives and property of the people.
