Tinubu's govt won't spare terrorists — Presidency tells U.S.

The Presidency has said the Nigerian Armed Forces under President Bola Tinubu will not spare terrorists.

This was after the U.S. Department of State commended Nigeria's strong response to the latest attacks from Fulani militant groups.

The U.S. government also promised to continue to work with the Nigerian government to protect Christians in the Middle Belt.

"We urge Nigeria to continue the momentum and defend the Barkin Ladi communities," it said in a post on X.

Reacting, presidential spokesperson Sunday Dare expressed the Tinubu administration's commitment to the safety of all citizens.

He said, "The Nigerian Armed Forces under President Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief, are fully supported and committed to routing out the terrorists in line with President Tinubu’s directive that they not be spared.

"US-Nigeria Partnership in this effort continues to strengthen and yield results. We thank the Bureau for this recognition and promise of collaboration. This government has nothing to hide and it is committed to the safety of all citizens irrespective."
