President Muhammadu Buhari says he's determined to give Nigeria an electoral system that meets with best practices anywhere in the world.

The president was speaking when he met with the inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu and chairman and commissioners of INEC,  in Abuja Tuesday.

He charged the electoral umpire to stick to the rules of fair play and adherence to justice while conducting elections in the country.

President Buhari wants to ensure adequate security for the electoral process, without bias or favoritism.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, INEC chairman said they discussed ways to improve the electoral process and the rerun and by-elections  slated  January this year.

The police also pledged fidelity to the rules and regulations of election inline with president Muhamamdu Buhari resolve to deliver credible electoral process to Nigerians.
