The Police have dismissed reports of insecurity at examination centres in North Central Nigeria towards holding the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board examinations scheduled for April 16, 2026. The police assured candidates and parents of adequate security nationwide.
The Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, at a press conference, dismissed the reports as baseless. He noted that security concerns raised by the public have been addressed with intensified deployment of personnel and strengthened surveillance across centres.
The FPRO added that officers have been stationed, both overtly and covertly, with patrols, rapid response teams, and inter-agency collaboration, in place, to prevent any disruption, warning that anyone attempting to compromise the examination process will be arrested and prosecuted.
JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, commended the National Security Adviser, the Inspector General of Police, and other security agencies for their support, while announcing an adjustment to the morning schedule, shifting candidates’ arrival time from 6:30am to 7:00am, with examinations still commencing at 8:30am.
Authorities urged candidates to arrive early, follow all guidelines, and report suspicious activities, while advising the public to ignore unverified social media reports and rely on official information.
