The Police have arrested four suspected bandits and recovered weapons in Kaduna State.

The Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, in a statement, indicated that the arrests were made by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department, Special Tactical Squad following credible intelligence.

The FPRO identified the suspects as Abdumumini Abubakar, Maikano Gambo, Saleh Thompson, and Oyonyi Odango; he said that they were apprehended on March 7, 2026, in Tayu, Sanga Local Government Area.

Recovered items include 4 AK-47 rifles with magazines, 80 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition, and a locally fabricated pistol with 20 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Preliminary investigations linked the suspects to banditry and other violent crimes, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the network.

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, commended the operatives and reaffirmed the commitment of the force to tackling banditry and ensuring safety nationwide.
