The Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), FCTA Chapter, has suspended its three day industrial action with effect from 8;00am 8th May 2025.

The Association in a Communique issued at the end of its Congress signed by its Chairperson, Dr. Ifeyinwa Kate Ejinkeonye and the Secretary General, Dr. Aderonke Akande, said congress acknowledged the intervention of management of Federal Capital Territory Administration.

It added that following a sustained engagement and dialogue, some members of the association affected have been receiving their previously withheld salaries, while the government has given assurances that the process of full restoration is ongoing and will be completed without delay.

The Association maintained that the suspension was a gesture of goodwill to allow the government fulfill its commitments to meet all the demands put forward by MDCAN.

It however posited that the process remain incomplete within the agreed timeframe saying the body will be left with no choice but to embark on an indefinite strike action.

The Medical Personnel appreciated the understanding and solidarity of its members and the public, and declared its committed to protecting the rights and welfare of all medical consultants within the FCTA.
