The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Mr Muhammad Rabiu, has called for increased public support and timely intelligence sharing to tackle kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state.

Rabiu made the call during a patrol of the Eastern Bypass, Rido Village, Maraban Rido, Unguwan Luka and Izam community in Igabi Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.

The commissioner led members of the command’s management team on the patrol to assess the security situation, identify community concerns and strengthen police-community relations.

At Maraban Rido, Rabiu met with the traditional ruler and residents, who presented their security concerns and complaints.

He urged traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups and residents to cooperate with the police in addressing security challenges, particularly kidnapping.

The commissioner emphasised that public cooperation and timely intelligence sharing were essential to preventing crime and ensuring swift police response to security threats.

He urged residents to promptly report suspicious persons and movements to the police, assuring them that information provided would be treated confidentially and acted upon professionally.

Rabiu noted that timely information from members of the public would enable the police to respond swiftly to threats and prevent attacks.

The patrol also covered Unguwan Luka and Izam community, where the police team assessed security concerns.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Kaduna said that the exercise formed part of the command’s proactive policing strategy to strengthen community engagement and address security challenges across the state.
