The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has paid tribute to its former Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, describing his death as a major loss to the agency and Nigeria’s road safety community.
The incumbent Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, said Biu devoted a significant part of his life to public service and efforts to protect lives on Nigerian roads.
Mohammed conveyed the corps’ condolences in a statement on Monday, praising the late administrator for his contributions to the agency’s growth and operational effectiveness.
“His passing is therefore not merely the loss of a former leader; it is the loss of a colleague, a seasoned professional and a compatriot who devoted a significant part of his life to the service of humanity and the safety of Nigerians,” he said.
Biu served as the seventh substantive Corps Marshal from July 2022 to May 2024. He joined the FRSC in its formative years and rose through the ranks during a career marked by discipline and dedication to road safety administration.
Mohammed said Biu’s tenure reflected his commitment to strengthening the agency’s institutional capacity and improving its performance.
He added that the late official’s contributions would continue to inspire FRSC personnel working to reduce road crashes and fatalities nationwide.
“On behalf of the Management and the entire workforce of the Federal Road Safety Corps, I extend my deepest condolences to his immediate family, friends, associates and all those whose lives he touched,” Mohammed said.
The Corps Marshal also prayed for the repose of Biu’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah.
“Rest in peace, Dauda Ali Biu. Your service to the nation will not be forgotten,” he added.
