Minister of information and national orientation,Mohammed Idris hinted this evening after the close of the three day food security emergency Meeting presided over by chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Part of the measures is the order to the ministry of agriculture and food security to release 42 metric tons of grains from the federal reserves to cushion the effect of the present food scarcity in the country.

On the dwindling fortunes of the naira to foreign currencies and the inability of Nigerians to purchase the few available items, the minister called for more patriotism amongst Nigerians .

The three day meeting was part of efforts of the present administration to bring down the prices of food amidst growing unrest in some parts of the country.
