Bayelsa Governor Caution FG Against Scrapping Amnesty Program

Bayelsa state governor Douye Diri has cautioned the federal government against scrapping the presidential amnesty program in the Niger Delta region.

Governor Diri made this known when he received the presidential amnesty administrator Dr Dennis Otuaro, who is on a working visit to Niger Delta states.

According to the governor, the threats and militancy issues which led to the creation of the Amnesty program is still visible in the Niger Delta region.

On his part, the presidential amnesty administrator Dr Dennis Otuaro stressed on the challenges faced in funding the program.
