Troops of the 63 Brigade Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Joint Task Force Operation Delta Safe, arrested two suspects and confiscated four AK-47 rifles, at Ogidigben Community, in Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State.

Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Captain ILiyasu Bawa-Rijau, in a statement indicated that the operation was conducted, following reports of sporadic shooting in the community. He said the troops responded swiftly and confiscated four AK-47 rifles, six magazines, 106 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and other items.

The suspects, according to the Nigerian Army, are currently in custody undergoing further investigation. The Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Moronfolu Shonibare, charged officers and men to sustain the operational tempo.

He reassured the Brigades of unwavering commitment in denying criminal elements freedom of action, as he warned against individuals or groups harbouring arms or engaging in criminal activities.
