The Association of Resident Doctors (LASUTH-ARD) has officially suspended its industrial action, which began on September 11, 2026.
This followed a high-level deliberations led by Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, alongside state health and civil service executives.
At the meeting, Hamzat reaffirmed the commitments Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made during July consultations with the Medical Guild and the ARD. To allow sufficient time for administrative verification, all parties agreed on a final implementation target of late November 2026.
Under Governor Sanwo-Olu's leadership, the state government reaffirms its commitment to medical workforce welfare and health system strengthening.

• Promotion & Advancement Arrears: LASUTH Management and the State Treasury Office are finalising record reviews to disburse payments alongside the October 2026 salary cycle.
• Specialist Allowance (GL 14 / Senior Registrars): A policy memo from the Ministry of Health has been routed to the Ministry of Establishments and Training for executive approval.
• Revised Professional Allowance Table (PAT) Arrears: Outstanding July 2026 arrears were successfully disbursed alongside September salaries on September 23, 2026.
• Salary Component Breakdown: Confirmed that official Lagos State Government payslips remain the authoritative itemised reference for all salary components.
