Lajide urged directors to assess their performance, address operational challenges and develop clear strategies for achieving the Ministry’s objectives. She emphasised succession planning, staff capacity development and mentorship, urging directors to prepare their next-in-line officers for leadership responsibilities and articulate five-year visions for their directorates.
In her presentation, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments and Training, Dr. (Mrs.) Olubusola Abidakun, called for
stronger institutional synergy under the theme, “Breaking Down Silos to Build One MoH Team: Teamwork, Synergy and Thriving at Work.”
She identified poor communication, departmental rivalry and inadequate coordination as barriers to productivity, advocating shared goals, transparent communication, cross-departmental collaboration and staff wellbeing.
The workshop also featured presentations by directors and heads of units on their mandates, achievements, challenges and plans for improved service delivery, providing an opportunity to review performance, align priorities and strengthen collective commitment to the Ministry’s 2027 objectives.
