Kwara state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has expressed his support for Nollywood industry, to foster societal development.

He said that entertainment is crucial to the advancement of the society.

Ahmed made this known on Thursday, April 6th, hosted Nollywood stars at the Government house, Ilorin. He said that entertainment is a platform for disseminating crucial information and positive values.

He said: "players in the entertainment industry are stakeholders in governance as they play important roles in setting developmental agenda."

The Governor added that that it will require all hands on deck from stakeholders in different sectors, including entertainment, to bring Nigeria to an enviable level. He commended the Nollywood stars for contributing their quota to the society, serving as role models for the younger generation.

To foster his support, Ahmed said his administration will continue to partnership with the industry. He said entertainment is a veritable medium to disseminate information to the public and promote positive values.
