Mrs Sharon Ademefun, elder sister of Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed how she manages the musician’s finances to curb excessive spending on luxury assets.
Ademefun, who serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), stated that she conducts structured financial reviews with the artist to enforce fiscal discipline in a recent Talk Show, ‘Morayo’ in Lagos.
“Me and Davido sit and have a finance meeting every week because I think it is important for him to know how his money is being spent. I will now say, ‘David, please, no more cars,'” Ademefun said.
She explained that her close family relationship allows her to offer candid guidance regarding long-term financial management, a role she has maintained since the inception of his music career.
Ademefun also reflected on her upbringing in the prominent Adeleke family, noting that despite their wealth, they were instilled with financial discipline and strict budgeting from childhood.
