Veteran entertainer and activist, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has revealed why he helped connect former President Olusegun Obasanjo with comedian and content creator Isbae U for his popular YouTube show, Curiosity Made Me Ask.
Charly Boy made the revelation in a post on X on Monday, September 21, 2026, while reflecting on Obasanjo’s appearance on the show.
According to him, the meeting was about creating opportunities for young people and encouraging older Nigerians to engage with the platforms and ideas of the younger generation.
He said Obasanjo’s willingness to participate in the unconventional interview showed that age and experience should not prevent older people from connecting with young Nigerians.
Charly Boy urged older Nigerians to do more than encourage young people to succeed, calling on them to “open doors” and give them opportunities to prove themselves.
He also encouraged young people to prepare themselves to make the most of opportunities when they arise.
Obasanjo’s appearance on Curiosity Made Me Ask attracted attention as the former president joined Isbae U in the show’s trademark humour and banter, including jokes about his time as president and questions about contemporary Nigerian entertainment.
Charly Boy said the experience demonstrated what could happen when older and younger generations create space to interact.
