Voting has officially opened for the 18th Headies Awards, giving music fans the opportunity to support their favourite artistes and creatives ahead of this year's ceremony.
The Headies announced the opening of voting on its social media platforms, following the unveiling of the nominees on August 25.
The 18th edition, themed “Africa to the World,” is scheduled to take place on October 25, 2026, in Toronto, Canada.
Several major Nigerian and African music acts are competing across the award categories, including FOLA, Wizkid, Omah Lay, Asake, Davido, Mavo, Adekunle Gold, Ayra Starr, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, and Rema.
FOLA leads this year's nominations with 10 nods, while Wizkid and Omah Lay each received seven nominations. Asake, Davido and Mavo followed with six nominations each.
The Headies has also introduced categories recognising artistes and creatives from across Africa and the diaspora, including Best African Diaspora-Canadian Artiste, Best West African Artiste, Best East African Artiste, Best North African Artiste and Best Southern African Artiste.
Fans can now vote for nominees in the applicable voting categories through the official Headies platform.
The award organisers are expected to continue announcing activities leading up to the ceremony in Toronto.
