Electricity supply to customers across Ikeja Electric Plc’s network has reduced due to a shortfall in power allocated to the distribution company from the national grid.
The company disclosed this in a public notice issued on Monday, October 19, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the reduced hours of supply.
Ikeja Electric said it was engaging relevant stakeholders to increase the amount of electricity available to its network.
“We are actively engaging the relevant stakeholders to improve the available power supply,” the company said, adding that it would continue to distribute the electricity received from the grid as efficiently and equitably as possible.
The distribution company apologised for the inconvenience and appealed to customers to remain patient while efforts to improve supply continued.
It also pledged to keep customers informed as the situation develops.
The development comes amid the challenges of electricity generation and distribution in Nigeria, where the quantity of power available from the national grid affects the supply that distribution companies can deliver to their customers.
