The Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) says consumers could sue SON for any substandard product certified by the agency for breach of trust.

Speaking at the presentation of a MANCAP certificate to a battery company in Ilorin, Kwara state , head of SON, Sunday Yashim who represented the director general of the agency said any product certified by the agency could compete with any outside the country.

He noted that Nigerians could sue them in case they discover products certified are substandard.

The director of commerce , ministry of commerce and industry, Kwara, Abubakar TInumola also admonished Nigerians to patronize any made-in-Nigeria goods in order to boost and encourage local manufacturers.
