Marvico Group is set to open a multi-factory complex in Imo State, with plans to expand local manufacturing, improve market access for farmers and create jobs for residents.

The facility, located in Obazu-Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, is scheduled for commissioning on October 24, 2026. It follows the launch of the company’s industrial operations in Ibafo, Ogun State, in November 2025.

The new complex is expected to bring manufacturing, agriculture, agro-processing, sourcing and distribution activities together, while strengthening links between rural producers and industrial processors.

The company said the facility would help connect farmers and local processing hubs, including garri and palm oil producers in Umuokanne, near Etioha in Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area, to wider industrial and commercial markets.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Marvico Group, Udu Nnamdi Iroegbu, said the investment reflected the company’s confidence in the South-East’s commercial potential and its capacity to support industrial growth.

He said the expansion was intended to bring industrial activities closer to communities and create opportunities for economic development beyond the company’s existing operations in Ogun State.

Iroegbu said the factory would also help farmers in Obazu-Mbieri, Etioha, Umuokanne and neighbouring communities find markets for their produce, potentially increasing trade and strengthening local supply chains.

He added that the project was expected to provide employment and skills-acquisition opportunities for young people and women in the area.

According to him, closer links between farms and processing facilities could improve access to markets for agricultural producers and stimulate economic activity in surrounding communities.

The project forms part of the company’s expansion into the South-East, with its proponents expecting the facility to support local production and agro-processing while creating stronger connections between agriculture and industry.
